Why Sustainability Matters to Me

From the very beginning of Valhalla Scent, I knew I didn’t just want to create beautiful fragrance products - I wanted to build something I could feel genuinely proud of.

For me, being eco-friendly and choosing sustainably sourced products isn’t a marketing decision. Yes, these options sometimes cost more, but when I weigh that against supporting small businesses, reducing environmental impact and maintaining full transparency over what goes into my products, the choice is easy - every time.

Creating something that smells beautiful should never cost the earth...

Turning Supplier Trips into Adventures

One of my favourite ways to reduce my footprint is by combining UK holidays with collecting wholesale ingredients from my suppliers.

Instead of multiple courier journeys, I try to plan ahead and turn supply runs into long weekend adventures. It’s my small way of reducing transport emissions while also building stronger, more personal relationships with the businesses I work with.

Last year, that meant collecting supplies while exploring Manchester and Edinburgh. We visited and toured the iconic Salford Lads Club (a must for any Smiths fan!), visited the Trafford Centre (a shopping centre so big it puts Lakeside to shame), we saw the Edinburgh Castle and walked the Royal Mile - taking in the history and eerie October atmosphere.

There’s something so grounding about seeing more of our beautiful country, meeting small business owners face-to-face, and returning home with both memories and materials ready to create more beautiful products.
